WEBSITE DESIGN
BACKGROUND
Giving an online presence as solid as its work.
Helping a local craft business reach more homeowners.
Thumb Coast Customs had strong craftsmanship and local trust, but their website needed to do more of the talking for people finding them online.
For new homeowners, the site had to quickly answer a few simple questions: what do they build, what does the work look like, and how do I start a project?

PHOTOS
Real jobs, before & after
Fixed: Swapped the stock-looking hero for the owner’s own project photos.
PROOF
Slide sheets replace dropdowns
Fixed: Named the towns served and the Michigan wood he sources, not “quality.”
CONTENTS
Written in his voice
Fixed: Rewrote the contents the way the owner would actually communicate as.
CONTACT
Supporting different ways
Fixed: Added a Contact page on top nav, in the header and footer, not buried below.

USABILITY TESTING
Defined the site around trust, craft, and the kind of projects the client wanted to attract.
Created a warm, material-focused website with strong project imagery and a simple path to contact.
Structured services, process, materials, and contact into sections the client could update and grow over time.
RESEARCH
Understanding the company.
FINDING
Built around craft, not quick construction
Cleanliness and respect for the home
The business is growing beyond word-of-mouth
DESIGN TAKEAWAY: The site needs to be…
Personal and quality-driven
Build trust, not just explain steps
support reach, credibility, and consultation requests
